1. Anonymous Practice First

You can take unlimited typing tests on AksharType completely anonymously without creating an account. Anonymous test keylogs are validated in memory and discarded without persisting your IP address or session details to permanent storage.

2. Account Information We Collect

When you register for an account (via email/password or Google OAuth), we collect:

• Your chosen username and email address.
• Cryptographically salted password hashes (Argon2id; plain-text passwords are never stored or logged).
• Typing test metrics (WPM, accuracy, consistency, duration, timestamp) and anti-cheat verification data.
• Optional profile preferences (keyboard layout, bio, country code, theme settings).

3. Profile Visibility & Data Rights

You maintain full sovereignty over your data:

• Private Profiles: You can set your profile to Private in Settings at any time, which hides your stats and anonymizes your name on public leaderboards.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account permanently in Settings. Deletion revokes all sessions, anonymizes existing test logs, and removes all personal records.
• No Data Selling: We do not sell your personal data or keystroke analytics to third-party brokers or advertisers.

4. Cookies & Consent Preferences

We use strictly necessary httpOnly, Secure cookies (`tn_session`) for session authentication and `tn_csrf` for cross-site request forgery prevention.

With your explicit permission via our cookie consent banner, we also use optional performance telemetry and advertising cookies. You can update or withdraw your consent at any time using the Manage ad preferences link in the footer or in your Account Settings.

5. Google AdSense & Advertising Policy

AksharType is monetized via non-intrusive manual display ad units provided by Google AdSense to sustain free server operations and anti-cheat infrastructure.

• Third-Party Cookies & Advertising ID: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit.
• Strict Keystroke Isolation: Third-party ad scripts are strictly isolated. Google AdSense has zero access to your keystroke telemetry, target test passages, or personal practice history.
• Never Active During Tests: Ads are completely suppressed during active typing tests and will never steal input focus or obstruct your typing area.
• Opt-Out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by disabling advertising cookies via our on-site consent manager.
