About AksharType

The typing test platform
built for everyone

AksharType is a free, open typing test and analytics platform designed from the ground up to support multiple languages and scripts — starting with English, Hindi (Devanagari), and Hinglish.

Our Mission

Most typing test platforms are built for English speakers and optimise for a single script. AksharType is different — we believe typing speed analysis should be accurate, inclusive, and free. Whether you type in QWERTY, InScript, or Remington Gail, we measure your speed using the same rigorous methodology: server-side replay of every keystroke, grapheme-aware text comparison, and a deterministic metrics pipeline that produces identical results on client and server.

We also believe that leaderboards should be trustworthy. Every result goes through an anti-cheat pipeline before it appears publicly, and flagged results are queued for manual review rather than silently discarded.

What makes us different

Speed & Precision

Every millisecond matters. Our typing engine processes keystrokes with sub-frame latency for an authentic measurement experience.

Language First

Native support for English, Hindi (Devanagari) with InScript/Remington layouts, and Hinglish — because typing tests shouldn't be English-only.

Anti-cheat Built In

Server-side keylog replay, timestamp integrity checks, and heuristic analysis ensure every leaderboard entry is legitimate.

Deep Analytics

Per-second WPM series, error density mapping, consistency scoring, and personal best tracking to pinpoint weaknesses.

Privacy Respected

No trackers during tests, no selling data, GDPR-inspired data practices, and full account deletion with PII hard-delete.

Free Forever

Core typing test, analytics, and leaderboards are free — no paywall, no hidden limits. Premium features are additive, never restrictive.
